Here we are back again for the 12th installment of the Silver3D folders. It adds 39 new folders to the collection making for a grand total of 607 Silver 3D Folders. Once again I have tried to bring you the best designs out there. In addition to the applications, games, and utilities that have come out since the last addition, I have added more generic folder icons. Contributors to Part 12 are... Cmarkn (who helped provide some program icons that I didn't have), Robin Seer, and Rachel5133 (who has some hot button icons that I added to the Silver 3D collection, and gave me an idea for a few variations). Also to the gentleman at Berkeley Systems who needed the Cal Bear folder, I hope this qualifies in getting a little push for the Swan module on the next More After Dark release (being an Oregon Duck, it was almost as painful to do as the Beavers and Huskies).
I am also going to upload a current ResEdit file with all the Silver3D folders to date and a System7 Blue folder ResEdit file for those that are happy with the "stock" color folders and just want the icons on them. Since they will be in ResEdit format, you need to be careful and work only on copies of your files. Be looking for them if you would like to see the whole collection at a glance. Now for the installment procedures of these folders...
I have placed them in a folder format for ease of use. While all were developed in ResEdit, I have taken the initiative to make things easy for you to use by allowing a simple copy and paste from the Get Info box of the Silver3D folders to the folder of your choice in its Get Info box. It is not intended that you simply use the folder "as is", as the names may be different than the ones that you use. It could confuse your System and Finder by simply replacing your folder with these without making sure that the name for each folder is typed "exactly" as the folder it is replacing.
The folder transfer procedure should be as follows:
Select the Silver 3D folder you want to use by clicking on it. Go to the File menu and select "Get Info". Once the Silver 3D Get Info box is up, click on the folder icon so that a square box surrounds it. Then do a "Copy" command from the Edit menu (or a "Command-C" keystroke from the keyboard). Close the Silver 3D's Get Info box by clicking the small square box in the upper left part of the Get Info box. Now, select the folder you want to transfer the folder icon to, by clicking on it and selecting "Get Info" from the File menu. Once again, click on the folder icon in the box so a square surrounds it. Go to the Edit menu and select "Paste" (or a "Command-V" from the keyboard). The folder should update to the Silver 3D folder you wanted. Close the Get Info box by clicking in the square in the upper left hand corner and you are done.
Since this is an ongoing project, this collection will be updated and changed from time to time by new programs, interesting new topics, special requests, and upgraded icons from existing programs. I also want to thank those that have sent me icons or have let me use some of their artwork. All I ask is that you keep this read me file with the archive if you redistribute the Silver3D folder collection to other users. Have fun, and enjoy customizing your Macintosh!
